What is the CAT 2014 Cutoff

Common Admission Test, commonly known as CAT is an online test conducted every year to select the candidates for business administrative programs. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in quantitative and verbal ability, data interpretation, reasoning, etc. Indian Institutes of Management has started this exam. Candidates who were appeared for CAT 2014 must score marks atleast equal to CAT 2014 Cutoff otherwise they will not be able to carry forward for other procedures. CAT 2014 will be an online exam of 170 minutes and will consist 100 questions.

CAT 2014 Cutoff:

Let us first clear the meaning of cutoff marks. Cutoff marks is a minimum measure of marks for selecting the candidates. In other words, the candidates who succeed to score marks atleast equal to CAT 2014 Cutoff will get selected for further rounds. Therefore, the first motive of the candidates  is  to attain  minimum cutoff marks. All the other candidates will be disqualified from further rounds.
The release of CAT 2014 Cutoff marks will be done after the result declaration. Candidates can check their result and cutoff marks as well to check whether they have qualified for the exam or not.

CAT 2014 Cutoff: How it is decided?

Cutoff marks is decided by a panel of experts that are associated with the exam. They go through the various aspects of the exam and then decide the CAT 2014 Cutoff marks. Some of the facts that are considered by them are:
  • Previous year cutoff marks.
  • Total applicants who appeared in the exam.
  • Level of examination.
In terms of fluctuation, there is very little change in the cutoff marks as compared to the previous year marks. Normally the cutoff marks are high as the exam is one of the toughest exam of the country.
